This tutorial will guide you through troubleshooting when VIVE Mars doesn’t appear in Unreal’s Live Link panel.

  1. Please make sure you already followed Connecting Mars to your PC for setting the network environment.

  2. Check the IP address and make sure both VIVE Mars and your PC are within the range of private IP network address. Please refer to the private IP range below:

  3. If you are using an IP router, but the IP of Mars or your PC is not within the private IP range, you may need to check the following items to make sure both Mars and PC get the correct IP and are under the same subnet.

  4. Add VIVE Mars as a static endpoint in Unreal > Project Settings > UDP Messaging > Static Endpoints. For example → 10.116.108.121:6666 (By default, 6666 is the port number of Live Link protocol)

  6. If Mars still does not appear in Live Link panel, try manually select the IP address of one of the network devices of your PC as an Unicast Endpoint in Unreal > Project Settings > UDP Messaging > Transport > Unicast Endpoint. For example → 10.116.105.3:0 (Please set the port number to “0”), but usually this value should be fine with 0.0.0.0:0

  7. If none of the above works, try rebooting the PC.
